BDASA Industry Survey 2027

The State of Business Development in Southern Africa

How capable are Southern African businesses of developing new opportunities — and how do they believe they compare with their competitors?

Research organiser: Business Development Association of Southern Africa NPC (BDASA).

Introduction

The Business Development Association of Southern Africa (BDASA) invites business leaders and practitioners to take part in its inaugural research initiative, The State of Business Development in Southern Africa 2027.

The study examines how organisations identify, evaluate, develop and convert business opportunities into sustainable growth and enterprise value. Your responses will contribute to understanding of business development practices, organisational capabilities and perceptions of the competitive environment.

Estimated completion time: 6–8 minutes.

Participation is voluntary. Results will be published in aggregate, anonymised form; individual organisations will not be identified in the public report. At the end, you may optionally request the findings or information about a proposed company comparison report.

The study also contributes to the development of the Southern Africa Business Development Capability Index (SABDCI), currently an experimental framework. Please answer based on your organisation’s present practices, rather than aspirations. Select “Unable to assess / Don’t know” where appropriate.
